A widely-known best practice in email marketing is integrating your email campaigns with social media to maximize engagement and reach within your target audience while raising awareness and developing new leads. A great way you can do this is by adding a “Join My Mailing List” button to your Facebook Business page.
You can do this with most email service providers, however at Endorphin Advisors we use and partner with Constant Contact, so these instructions will be specific to that process. Constant Contact is an extremely cost effective and increasingly dynamic internet marketing platform that focuses primarily on email marketing, event marketing, social campaigns, online surveys, and other web-marketing tools. Those of you who are already using email marketing already know that we are always trying to grow and maintain our contact lists. This is a great tool because permission is implied and you can control to which list those who join through your Facebook page will go to. We recommend that you designate a specific list to those who join through Facebook so you can track and manage leads originating from the channel and use that information to target email campaigns and offers to them in the future.
Some other great features of this practice are the ease of transfer of new subscribers’ contact details from new subscribers’ Facebook page into your Constant Contact account as well as the fully-customizable nature of the Join My List link. Customization options include editing the introduction, adding a personal message, editing the call-to-action box, naming the link, and adding an image URL (most likely your brand logo).
First You Must Install the Constant Contact Join My Mailing List Facebook Application
- Make sure you are logged into your Facebook account.
- Login to your Constant Contact account.
- Go to Contacts > Grow My Contact List.
- Click “Install” by Facebook Page.
- In the window that appears, click Install App.
- Choose your page from the “Add this application to:” drop-down box.
- Click Add Constant Contact – Join My List.
The app is now installed. Next you’ll want to set-up the application so that it connects with your Constant Contact account.
- Click the Join My List icon on your page.
- Scroll down to click “Application Settings”.
- Click Go to App.
- Click Allow.
- Sign in using your Constant Contact username and password.
- Click Log In.
- Personalize the introduction, the default list, or add an image URL.
- Click Save Settings.
